He has filled them with skill to do all kings of work as craftmen, designer, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers – all of them master craftsmen and designer. Exodus 35:35
God created everyone of us with a gift. We can never make an excuse of not serving Him because one way or another we have skills that we can offer Him. God created us with that gift so that we may give glory to Him with it.
Before, I was a person of low self-esteem. I used to think that I’m unimportant, an average person ineverything, doesn’t have a specialskill where I’m good at unlike others. That thought hinders me from serving God, that thought of with orwithout me there will be no difference because I’m worthless.
God made me realized that those thoughts are so wrong, so so wrong. I was deceived by the devil’s voice.
Right now, I decided to commit myself to Him, through His grace, nothing and noone can stop me now from serving Jesus.
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.. Exodus 19:5
Obedience is very important to God. I can see, from bible histories, how it really pleases God. He even told the Israelites that whoever obeys Him fully will be His treasured possession. Being a treasured possession is kinda interesting, right?. How we obey God shows how much we love Him, that’s why it pleases Him.
So if ever you have this area of your life, wherein it’s hard for you to obey, maybe it’s time for you to pray for it and ask God to give you that willing heart to surrender everything to Him. It’s all worth it, be His treasured possession.
I just encountered this verse while I’m having my devotion. A very comforting words that reminds me of how we can assure of God’s peace under His protection. In our lives, we tend to be controlled by our emotions during unwanted situations that we encountered. We tend to worry a lot, redirecting our focus to the situation rather than to Jesus alone. I remember how Jesus calms the storm during that night. “Be still” (Mark 4:39) that was the word Jesus said and the storm just stopped. In difficult situations wherein it feels like there’s nowhere to escape to, let the comforting presence of our Prince of Peace wipe out our worries and listen closely as He says the same comforting word when He calms the storm. Be still.
